Groß is now the highest scorer in the division on 45 and has gone 17 and 14 in consecutive weeks. West Adams have scored more than anyone, 270, and are the only club in the division still unbeaten. Top on merit.

Beaten for the first time, by a single point, with two players left on the pitch and six needed. The defence is still the best thing in the division by a distance — 138 conceded, thirty-nine fewer than anyone — but the attack has now gone 36, 54, 33, and Palmer has managed 13, 7, 1, 5, 2. A club this well built at the back should not be losing one-point matches. Still second, and still the side nobody wants to draw.

Two wins in a row, the second of them over the champions, and the 25-point afternoon that decided it was the most emphatic single window anyone produced. Tarkowski has quietly become the spine of this side with 14 from an assist and a clean sheet. The nagging problem is unchanged: 20 points left on the bench, Cunha's 10 among them, and 225 conceded. Elgin are the most dangerous roster outside the top two and the most wasteful in the division.

A comfortable win that never needed to be more than comfortable, ahead from the opening exchanges to the last kick. Trafford's 10 and a clean sheet led it. The Gulls sit third on points and have lost once, but 205 scored is the lowest of anyone in the top five, and the fixture list has been kind. This is the week to find out whether they are genuinely good or merely well scheduled.

Two straight wins, the second of them the result of the gameweek: one point taken off the division's last perfect record, with Barnes turning in two assists for nine in the window that settled it. Gvardiol remains one of the best value picks anyone made. The Sharks have scored 174, second-fewest in the division, and keep winning anyway — and they have wasted five bench points all season, which is how a thin roster survives.

Eight points behind with one window left, two players still to come, and both returned exactly four. Lammens and Mainoo rescued a point that looked gone. Hall's 13 and Kostoulas's 10 were the substance of the week. Bramley are the definition of mid-table right now — 216 scored, 220 conceded, a record of 2-2-1 — but a side that finds the last eight points it needs is a side with something in it.

Two straight defeats, and the champions are seventh. The 25 points they found on the final day were too late against a side that had already banked 31, and Isak's eight was the first time he has looked like the first-round pick since gameweek three. The roster is not the problem: 216 scored is mid-table, and the forward line was supposed to be the best in the league. Time to start behaving like the defending champions.

Led 21–0 and 33–18 and lost. Schade, Ajer and Thiago gave the Owls the best opening night anyone had, and 46 was their second-best total of the season, and it still counted for nothing because the other side had a hat trick coming. Osborn have now lost four of five while scoring respectably throughout. This is a club being beaten by timing rather than quality.

Off the mark at last, and desperately unlucky not to have three points. Semenyo's 17 from two goals and an assist was the joint-best individual return of the gameweek, and 52 in back-to-back weeks after opening with 23, 29 and 24 is a genuine change in level. The Albis have now scored more in two gameweeks than in their first three combined. The table still reads 0-4-1; the performances no longer do.

Fourteen points, the second-lowest total anyone has managed this season, and 105 for the campaign when no other club in the division is below 174. The Bulls have still not left a single point on their bench in five gameweeks, which at this stage is less a virtue than a diagnosis: there is nothing on the bench to leave. Mac Allister's five was the best any starter managed. This needs recruitment, not selection.
