A solid start

In their inaugural season, West Adams showcased a true team effort. There were no golden boots or one-man shows — instead, it was the collective wizardry of Eberechi Eze and the gritty determination of Granit Xhaka that propelled The Flying Lions to a 3rd place finish. Their 17-13 record earned them 57 points, just 2 points above Bramley Red Devils in 4th place, highlighting the competitive nature of the league.

Unmatched dominance

The 2023 season was a crowning achievement for West Adams. Building on their previous campaign, The Flying Lions soared to new heights, setting records for most points and most wins. Finishing with a 27-9-2 record, they amassed 83 points and clinched the league title. Cole “Cold” Palmer emerged as the golden boy, supported by the dynamic duo from Crystal Palace, Eze and Michael Olise, alongside the ever-reliable Son Heung-min.

Building a contender on the fly

West Adams had the kind of season that makes a club's supporters argue about process versus results. The Lions finished sixth and missed the top four for the first time in the league's young history, yet had one of the best scoring profiles in the division. The draft was a disaster — none of the club's top ten picks contributed meaningfully — yet the recruitment department nearly saved the season anyway. They smashed Osborn on the final day, crushed SHRKFRS in Gameweek 37, and beat CTMS in a wild Commissioners Cup match. But tight losses to Trey Burton Ernie, Devilishly Seagulls, NELA, and Elgin damaged their top-four hopes.

Near top 4 finish lost

West Adams spent 25-26 like a heavyweight fighting through bad rhythm, good luck, genuine class, and just enough missed chances to make the whole season hurt. Their defining stretch came between Gameweeks 11 and 16, when they won six straight and surged back into the upper table — Gameweek 14 saw them beat #1 Osborn and move level on points at the top. But they lost three straight from Gameweeks 17 to 19, and a final push in Gameweek 34 was undone when TBE beat them in Gameweek 35 in a #1 vs #4 showdown. After finishing third in 22-23 and winning the league in 23-24, fifth felt like falling short of the standard. Their maiden Monster Energy Mango Loco Cup campaign was brief too, falling in the quarterfinals to top-seeded Bramley.

Outlook

West Adams future

West Adams remain one of the league's defining clubs, even after a second straight season outside the top four. Their all-time résumé is still enormous: 86-56-2, 260 league points, one league title, two top-four finishes, and 41.41 PPG — second all-time in wins, second in total league points, and one of only three active clubs with a title. The road ahead is a reckoning: West Adams are too good, too established, and too historically strong to frame fifth place as acceptable.
